I must missed the memo ... since when did 1 plat became worthless?
Its easy to get a price of a item using the NPC trader using the same formula that its used for materials, merchants rarely give 1 plat for a item and people expect "serious bids" to be over 10 plat?
Those people must be the same that compained about the rune and rare materials trader, they must really enjoy to hold the market hostage with very high prices.

I agree, Principa. If your item isn't selling, it's because people don't think it's worth anything. Given the amount of traffic that this site takes, it should send a message to you that you need to one of two things:
1. Go exploit some unsuspecting person IG.
2. Lower your price expectations a bit and sell at a nice profit but at a reasonable price.
It is perfectly acceptible to make a profit on your item. But anything over 1gp IS profit, isn't it? If you found it while battling monsters, whatever you sell it for is pure profit.
If there is a minimu price that you require to sell an item, STATE IT. You might also state something to the effect of "seller reserves the right not to sell an item". That said, don't call people names if they're bidding under your UNSTATED lowest price.

I personally refuse to sell anything over 15k. Thats a personal limit and has not yet even been reached. I think the prices people expect are ridiculous and sellers sometimes need to get their heads out of the clouds. Just because someone doesn't want to be ripped off doesn't make them a braindead n00b, it makes them smart and indicates that they are more interested in playing the game for fun that fake money. If I get an awesome item that I'm not going to use then I'll sell it for very little so someone else can enjoy it, thats what the game is for after all. I prefer to see people happy that see my storage full of money.

Not being a "farmer" and not EVER having enough gold around, I have to think long and hard about how much I spend. I can't tell you how grateful I am for people like you, Lalii, that allow us "poor folk" to own something...not necessarily UBER but plenty DECENT enough.
I wish the Guru folks would consider two sales forums:
1. Auction House: where people can bid things up to ridiculous limits.
2. Set Price Sales: where sellers SET a price and sell items at that price (or less if they choose) to the first person who replies.
The #2 option would take the proverbial starch out of the sellers on #1's shorts by actually selling similar or like items for reasonable prices. It also might help get the OOG and/or IG markets back into normal range.

I like those ideas, there needs to be some kind of control over it at least. Too many people get ripped off. I'm so grateful for others who sell things cheap, they make the game much more fun to play. Pity that when people sell things cheap they often get abused by others for 'lowering the market value', it gets a bit heated in there

seeing the auction he held, and reading the first post, this thread is quite humorous.

The whole trading thing wouldn't be very good if you tried to sell something to a Merchant and he said "Lol, No 15k plzkthx"
Anyway it really annoys me and makes me laugh at the same time to see people selling things for excessive prices. For instance, the other day i saw someone selling a 10/10 Sundering Bow string, i offered 2k, seeing as it was only an Upgrade even though it was max. He PM'd back to laugh at me, and said he had a current offer of 60k and would probably get 100k+ for this one string.
I just laughed at him.
OK it's quite rare but what he was asking was just laughable.

I am absolutely serious when I say there should be TWO selling forums:
1. Auction
2. Set Price
Those of us who believe in equity of trade would use the latter. Those who are price gouging exploiters will use the first.

If you think it worths at least 100k than start the bid at 100k, or ask for 120k or something and leave some room for negitation.
If you don't say anything then it means you are open for any bid.
Simple as that.

currently, im selling stuff on the board and only got one bid! Is it true that the higher the requirement for an item, the less chance that it will get any bids?
